Why do I use a personal Google or Apple ID to login to the app?
The sign-in process can feel a little strange when using a personal account for the first stage of downloading the PeopleSpot Business App and signing in. We have deliberately chosen this method to protect the privacy of all users of the App and also, importantly, take advantage of available accessibility functionality, particularly on iPhones.
Importantly:
We always respect our User’s privacy
User’s accounts are personal to them in case they switch to another organisation that also has the peoplespot so that their topics, notes, actions and favourites are preserved and travel with them. User's data is their own.
There is a weak link between the user's account and the email address they were sent the code to, but we do nothing with this data apart from validate that it's an enabled account. In the case of Sign in with Apple, users can obscure their personal email address using private relay so we cannot see what their personal email address is.
All analytics is anonymous - we cannot tell organisations what person looked at what topic etc. and we don't report on anything personal like notes and actions etc.
